It's been an epic week of runs. With the weather finally cooling down, my pace has automatically picked up, which is awesome.
On Monday, I ran 5 miles at an 8:35 pace
On Tuesday, I ran 2.5 miles at a 7:44 pace (!)
Today, I ran 3.75 miles at an 8:15 pace
More importantly, I have been basking in the joy of running this week. Switching it up with the shorter distances has been good for me. On Tuesday, as I left for a run right around dusk (inappropriately clad in a tank top and running shorts) it started to sprinkle, and even though my course was through neighborhoods I run all the time, something about the changing of the weather brought out a new beauty in the streets. I busted my butt, the whole time just thinking how great it felt to go fast, to feel my lungs burning, to feel the damp air on my skin and see the streetlights reflecting on the fallen leaves. It was a great run.
Anyway, I felt I was due for an update since I kinda fell off the edge of the blogosphere this month. "Blog more" is on my list of things to do, but it's way down there below caring for my kiddo and sick husband, nurturing other relationships, trying to bless and serve those in my sphere, cleaning my house and cooking dinner and doing laundry and, oh yeah, running. So, sometimes it doesn't happen. :)
Hello,
